Why we collect it:
- To provide the core property management features of the App
- To enable lease tracking, payment monitoring, and reporting
- To facilitate team collaboration features (when enabled)

Storage location:
This depends entirely on your membership tier and your actions:
- Local-only tiers: Data remains exclusively on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync or export it
- Cloud-enabled tiers: When you enable sync or upgrade to a cloud tier, your data will be uploaded to our secure cloud servers only when you initiate the sync
2.3 Files & Media
What we collect:
- Photos you capture or upload within the App
- Documents you attach (contracts, agreements, identification documents)
- PDF files generated by the App

2.4 Device & Technical Information
What we collect:

2.6 Payment Information
Current status: The App does not currently collect or process payment card information. Payment tracking in the App is for record-keeping purposes only, and actual payment processing occurs outside the App.
Future changes: If we introduce in-app payment processing in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before implementing such features and will clearly notify users of any changes to our payment data practices.
3. Membership Tiers & Data Storage
BaleBet offers multiple membership tiers with different features and data storage options.
3.1 How Membership Tiers Affect Data Storage
Local-Only Tiers (e.g., Free, Standard, Trial):
- All property data, tenant information, leases, and documents remain exclusively on your device
- We cannot access this data remotely
- Data is not backed up to our servers unless you explicitly initiate a sync or export
- Authentication data (email, username) is stored server-side for account verification only
Cloud-Enabled Tiers (e.g., Premium, Enterprise):
- You have the option to enable cloud sync features
- When you enable sync, your property data is uploaded to our secure cloud infrastructure
- Once uploaded, data is stored on servers provided by our cloud service provider
- You control when syncing occurs through explicit actions in the App
3.2 Your Responsibilities
Important: Data synchronization and backup are user-initiated actions. The App will not automatically sync or back up your data in the background without your explicit instruction.
You are responsible for:
- Initiating backups and syncs using the App's provided features
- Verifying that your data has been successfully backed up or synced
- Understanding which membership tier you are using and where your data is stored
- Managing data access for team members (if applicable)
Team access: If you invite team members or share access, invited users must explicitly fetch or sync data using the App's available options. Data is not automatically pushed to their devices.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:

- To enable property management, tenant tracking, lease management, and payment monitoring

Local-only data: If you use a local-only tier and never enable sync, your property data remains on your device and is not shared with our servers or any third parties.

- Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard protocols
- Secure authentication using hashed credentials
- Access controls limiting who can access server-side data
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Secure cloud infrastructure provided by reputable providers
Limitations: While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of data stored on your device or on cloud infrastructure. You acknowledge and accept these inherent security risks when using the App.
7. Data Retention
7.1 Server-Side Data
- We retain account information and server-stored data for as long as necessary to provide our services
- If you delete your account, we will delete your server-side data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain information for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes
- Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days after deletion for disaster recovery purposes
7.2 Local Data
- Data stored locally on your device remains under your control
- Uninstalling the App or clearing App data will delete local information unless you have backed it up
- We have no access to or control over data stored only on your device
8. Data Backups & Liability
8.1 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Initiating and maintaining backups of your data
- Verifying successful completion of backup and sync operations
- Understanding which data is stored locally versus on cloud servers
- Exporting important data for safekeeping
8.2 Our Assistance
If you experience data loss, we will make reasonable efforts to assist in investigating the issue and recovering data where technically feasible. However, data recovery cannot be guaranteed.
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for any loss of data, whether stored locally on your device or on cloud servers
- We are not liable for damages resulting from data loss, including lost business, lost profits, or consequential damages
- We are not liable for issues caused by user error, device failure, third-party service failures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
- Our total liability for any claims related to data loss or the App's use is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim
By using cloud sync or backup features, you acknowledge and accept these risks and limitations.
9. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
9.1 Access & Export
- You can access your data at any time through the App
- You can export your data using the App's export features
- You can request a copy of server-side data by contacting us
9.2 Correction & Update
- You can correct and update your information directly in the App
- You can update your account details through the App settings
9.3 Deletion
- You can delete your account and request deletion of server-side data by contacting us
- Local data can be deleted by uninstalling the App or clearing App data
- Upon request, we will delete your account and server-side data within 90 days, subject to legal retention requirements
9.4 Opt-Out
- You may be able to opt out of certain analytics through App settings (where available)
- You can choose not to enable cloud sync features
9.5 Data Portability
You can export your data in commonly used formats through the App's export features. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information provided in Section 13 below.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.
If you believe we have collected information from a child under the applicable age limit, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete that information.
11. International Data Transfers
BaleBet operates globally, and your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.
When we transfer information internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your country.
